WASHINGTON, DC and LAS VEGAS – Undefeated featherweight Andre Harrison will put his 16-0 record on the line July 29 in Everett, Wash. when he matches up against a streaking Steven Rodriguez. Harrison, one of the bright young stars of the sport dispatched former World Series of Fighting champion Lance Palmer in his last match to claim the 145-pound title. The New York native will be looking to secure the top divisional seed for the inaugural Professional Fighters League season that will kick off in January 2018.
Rodriguez (10-2) will bring a nine-fight winning streak to the Decagon when he makes the walk to face Harrison. The Costa Rican, who has finished eight of his 10 victories with six coming by way of submission, will be looking to hang the first loss on Harrison’s spotless record and run his string of triumphs to double-digits.
The star-studded card also features former UFC title-contender Yushin Okami who is slated to battle Andre Lobato in the co-main event. Okami, riding a three-fight winning streak, will welcome Brazil’s Lobato to the Decagon in what should be a competitive welterweight affair. The newcomer Lobato has been tearing up the Brazilian scene, rattling off nine consecutive victories of his own to earn his spot in the Professional Fighters League lineup.
Another former UFC title challenger Jake Shields will square off with the always-tough Danny Davis Jr. in a welterweight scrap. Shields has been a fixture at 170-pounds for more than a decade and holds wins over some of the most notable fighters of his generation including Tyron Woodley, Robbie Lawler, Dan Henderson, Carlos Condit and Demian Maia. He’ll take on Davis in what promises to be an epic battle of wills.
Rounding out the main card, Jared Rosholt – a three-time Division I All-American wrestler out of Oklahoma State University – will take on veteran heavyweight Nick Rossborough.
