Despite what you’ve heard, Cris Cyborg isn’t interested in fighting Ronda Rousey in the Octagon. However, that doesn’t mean the UFC champion wouldn’t mind scrapping with Rousey in a dfferent setting.

Appearing on The MMA Hour, Rousey’s coach Edmond Tarverdyan has one particular fight in mind should Rousey ever return to the UFC.

“I want that fight,” Tarverdyan said of Rousey facing Cyborg. “When I trained Ronda, I know Ronda could beat Cyborg. I know that. Cyborg is too slow.”

The two women have seen their careers become intertwined with one another despite the fact they’ve never fought. Rousey’s dominant run propelled her to superstar status while Cyborg saw her run of destruction become second fiddle to Rousey’s rise. The two of thrown verbal jabs at one another through the media for years and the fight is widely considered to be the biggest “money fight” in women’s MMA.

Despite the fame and financial gain a showdown with Rousey would bring, Cyborg informed Guilherme Cruz that she’s not interested.

“If Ronda wants to come back for a fight,” Cyborg said, “I believe it’s better for her to fight Miesha Tate. I’m in another stage of my career. I wanted to fight Ronda when she was psychologically well and confident.”

However, it seems Cyborg may be willing to swap out the Octagon for the Squared Circle.

“Now, if she wants to make a good fight for the fans, we can make it at WWE,” she said. “It would fit perfectly [for her] to go to Hollywood, and for me would be another challenge in my career… And something brilliant, her coach would fit perfectly in her corner in WWE, he’s nothing but a joke.”

It seems Tarverdyan is the only one interested in Rousey fighting Cyborg in the UFC as the MMA world didn’t hold back.
