UFC 218 is headlined by a featherweight title fight but there’s another belt on the line as well. The title of the “UFC’s Most Violent Man” will be up for grabs when former WSOF lightweight champ Justin Gaethje battles former UFC champion Eddie Alvarez.

Appearing on The MMA Hour, Alvarez discussed facing the former WSOF star in a bout that could prove to be a Fight of the Year candidate after all is said and done. Gaethje made a successful UFC debut by taking out perennial contender Michael Johnson while Alvarez will look to get back on track after a loss to Conor McGregor and a no contest bout with Dustin Poirier.

“I only deal with things I can control and right now there’s a whole other title on the line and that’s the ‘UFC most violent man’. And that title is on the line on Dec. 2.”

Alvarez would also promise that the fight with Gaethje would be “f****** nuts” which seems to fit the MO of every fight involving “The Highlight.” If Alvarez wants to assert his claim as the “UFC’s Most Violent Man,” he’ll surely have a dance partner in Gaethje. Appearing on MMA Junkie Radio, Gaethje laid out his plans inside the Octagon.

“When I’m done, I’m going to be known as the most violent mother(expletive) in this sport,” Gaethje said.

Considering the hype behind these two warriors going to battle, there’s also some cause for concern. It’s so rare that fights live up to the hype they receive but if anyone is known for delivering the goods, it’s Gaethje. He promised fans that he isn’t going to let Alvarez make this a boring fight.

MMA fans know that Alvarez and Gaethje have been involved in some of the most action-packed bouts in recent memory. With both men looking to put on an emphatic performance, you do not want to miss this clash of wills. And in case you need a reminder of just how violent Gaethje can be, check out these highlights of “The Highlight.”
