Spinning attacks in MMA tend to be boom or bust. For Eduard Folayang, it was a huge bust at ONE Championship: Legends of the World.
Folayang was defending his ONE lightweight title for the second time after taking the belt from Shinya Aoki last year. His opponent was the reigning ONE featherweight champion, Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen. Aside from having one of the best nicknames in MMA (GTL bro), Nguyen was enjoying a five-fight winning streak coming into the event. The ONE featherweight champ added another win (and another belt) to his resume, doing it in spectacular fashion.

Props to Nguyen for attempting to check on his vanquished foe but it’s safe to say Folayang needed more than a few moments to come back to his senses after whiffing on the spinning attack. This is just another reminder to all fighters and gym warriors out there, if you go for a spinning attack, you better not miss.
