Professional Fighters League: Daytona may only feature four fights, but the June 30 event is filled with talent. Preceding the battle for the top seed in the welterweight division of the inaugural 2018 season between veterans Jon Fitch and Brian Foster, the welterweight division will also feature two MMA combatants squaring off to assert their own claim to the top of the division. Joao Zeferino – the former WSOF welterweight challenger – welcomes Herman Terrado to the Decagon. Despite being 27 years young, Terrado has a stacked career of finishes, making this a fight you shouldn’t miss. Here are 10 things you need to know about “The Hitman”.

1) New Kid on the Block

Terrado has had a long and storied career and the next chapter of it will be contended upon the newly branded Professional Fighters League canvas on June 30th. “The Hitman” will be debuting for the promotion against former 170-lb title contender, Joao Zeferino.

2) He Started With Bodybuilding

Before his long journey into the wicked world of mixed martial arts, Terrado spent several years bodybuilding. He began practicing this athletic feat at a mere 11 years of age. It is said that he won several awards during that time, only turning to MMA after high school.

3) California Love

The 27-year-old has a timely record for a man his age. His professional MMA record thus far stands at a whopping 18 professional fights at 14-3-1. Interestingly, 13 out of 18 of these fights have been contested in his home state of California.

4) Terrado Looms Over Fitch’s Gold

Terrado has spent his entire career impressing in a devastating fashion at welterweight. Now coming into the PFL “The Hitman” has made it clear he is “coming for that 170-lb strap”. A decisive victory over Zeferino could thrust him into the spotlight.

5) Heavy Hitter

One of the most exciting attributes to a casual fan that a fighter can have is knockout power. Terrado is easily one of those fighters. He happily boasts a record of eight KO/TKO’s in 18 professional fights.

6) Momentum May Be Behind Him

Terrado will step into the Decagon on the heels of quite a run outside the promotion. Currently the 27-year-old is on a three-fight win streak where he finished all three opponents inside the first round.

7) Whats a ‘Decision’ Win?

It is a rare instance when a fighter has tasted victory 14 times professionally and never experienced it within a full three rounds. Terrado is one of those individuals having finished his opponents six times via submission and 8 via knockout.

8) Island Charm

Although he currently resides in San Diego, Terrado was not born in the continental United States of America. The former welterweight was actually born and raised on the small island of Guam, located in the western Pacific Ocean. The island is an American territory, making him an U.S. citizen by birth.

9) Championship Status

Although Terrado will be making his PFL debut against Zeferino as heavy hitter, the MMA veteran also has a backup plan. Earlier this month the 27-year-old was granted his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt by Carlson Gracie stating “I am Humbled!” in a Facebook post.

10) Competitive Resume

Terrado has competed in bodybuilding, as a high school wrestler where he won several gold medals and also maintains his competitive fervor in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu realm. He competed in his first professional MMA fight in 2008.
